What I've decided to do for my lidded vessel was a jar. Above are my quick sketches of what I wanted it to look like. The lid should be able to fit in.
I got to make the jar with clay. Before it was bisque fired, the lid seemed to fit in well. Now, I'm having trouble popping the lid back in and out. Inside the jar, I've built two holders to hold my lid when it's put in. So it doesn't sink in.
I think the form of the jar and lid support it's function. I could see the jar being used for candy and dry foods.
My glaze choices were toasted sage and textured turquoise. I only put on one coat of toasted sage and one coat of textured turquoise after. I'm still waiting for the result after it's fired again.
